DTCP2 - Approvals for Persistent Storage and Digital Output Reprotection Technology

DTLA has approved the technologies listed below for the persistent storage or reprotection and output of Decrypted DT Data (defined in the DTCP2 Adopter Agreement).

Technologies marked with an asterisk (*) may also be used with Analog Sunset Token Content (defined in Adopter Agreement Exhibit B Audiovisual: Compliance Rules, Section 2.5).

Technologies marked with a double asterisk (**) may also be used with Analog Sunset Token Content and Digital Only Token Content (defined in DTCP2 Adopter Agreement Exhibit B Part 1-A Sections 2.5 and 2.6 and Part 1-B Sections 2.5 and 2.6).


A. Approved Digital Output Reprotection Technologies

1. DTLA has granted approval to the following technologies as a protected digital output for content permitted to be protected using L1 protection, pursuant to Appendix B, Part 1-A, Section 4.4.4 of the Adopter Agreement:

  • 1.1 High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), licensed by Digital Content Protection, LLC**
  • 1.2 Windows Media DRM 10 and future versions, licensed by Microsoft Corporation (provisionally approved)
  • 1.3 Pro:Idiom, limited to use in closed hotel environments, licensed by Zenith Electronic Corporation**
  • 1.4 Verimatrix VCAS Content Protection System, limited to use in closed hotel environments, licensed by Verimatrix, Inc
  • 1.5 Samsung Conditional Access System (SCAS), limited to use in hospitality TV services, licensed by Samsung Corporation**
  • 1.6 Nagra Media PRM-LP, licensed by Nagravision, SA**
  • 1.7 IPRM-HN, licensed by ARRIS Group, Inc.

2. DTLA has granted approval to the following technologies as a protected digital output for content permitted to be protected using L2 protection, pursuant to Appendix B, Part 1-B, Sections 4.2.5, 4.5.2, and 4.6.1.2 of the Adopter Agreement:

  • 2.1 High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) version 2.2 or higher, licensed by Digital Content Protection, LLC**

B. Approved Persistent Storage Technologies

1. DTLA has granted approval to the following technologies for the persistent protected storage of content that has been delivered using DTCP and that is permitted to be protected using L1 protection, pursuant to Appendix B, Part 1-A, Section 2.2.1.1 of the Adopter Agreement:

  • 1.2 MG-R (SVR) for Hi-MD, licensed by Sony Corporation
  • 1.3 MG-R (SVR) for MemoryStick Pro, licensed by Sony Corporation*
  • 1.4 Windows Media DRM 10 and future versions, licensed by Microsoft Corporation (provisionally approved)
  • 1.5 Security Architecture For Intelligent Attachment (SAFIA), licensed by Hitachi Ltd., Pioneer Corporation, Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. and Sharp Corporation**
  • 1.6 Advanced Access Content System (AACS), licensed by Advanced Access Content System Licensing Administrator, LLC**
